Former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith was selected as the Herradura brand ambassador to ignite NFL fans association with the Herradurra brand. Herradura reached out to tequila connoisseurs to purchase a personalized barrel of blue agave tequila and an official certification of ownership. |
| The Strategy |
SMI created a series of 30-second spots that would appeal to tequila lovers. Herradura also launched a facebook competition with this commercial. People were encouraged to upload a video of how they would introduce Herradura to a friend, or the world, to win the grand prize, an all-expense-paid trip to Dallas for a personal introduction to Emmitt Smith. |
